Subject: Kangaroo Valley - recommendation of place to stay
"We just returned from a brief stay in Kangaroo Valley at the most delightful place. We stayed at Crystal Creek Meadows, and I can't rave enough about it! It was me, hubby and our 2 dd's aged 5 and 6. If you want to go somewhere that has quality accommodation, relaxing and some quality time with the kids, this is it! The owners have thought of everything.
When we arrived, we were escorted to our self contained 2 bedroom cottage (there are only 4 cottages on 16 acre property). We stayed in the Fleur Cottage. They had relaxing music playing and lots of little touches (such as freshly cut flowers, 2 freshly made cupcakes, organic teas, normal tea and coffee, 2 loaves of fresh baked bread, incense candles, bubble bath, a toy box for the kids, even a towel warmer in the bathroom!).
The rooms were decked out beautifully, and had all the necessities (dvd/cd players, heater/air conditioner, slow burning combustion wood fire). Once there you can borrow dvd's or cd's from their collection at the front office for free. They also had cd's. The rooms and more so the beds were absolutely luxurious! King size in one room, with the softest linen ever, and a Queen in the other. Outside there's a beautiful little yard, with a big wooden swing chair.
Depending on what package deal you got, you got a breakie hamper (we went for the continental, but next time I go, cause there HAS to be a next time I will go with the deluxe and also one of the spa treatments). If you got up early enough, you can go get fresh eggs from the hen pen - yummo! We went for a lovely stroll on the property, the kids loved it! They also had one of those large chess games outside, they loved this too.
The owners live on the property, and have 3 children of their own, they were very friendly and do anything to make your stay comfortable (even just leave you alone! he he)
We only stayed 2 nights, but I think you'd really need 3 or 4 to also explore more of the Kangaroo Valley area. I've attached the website for anyone interested - it is as good as it looks!!!"
